(Note this does not include "Period modifications").

Vehicles under the Classic Vehicle Registration Scheme are NON-STANDARD or INDIVIDUALLY CONSTRUCTED vehicles. (This does not include "Hot Rods") See below.

Historic vehicle registration (HVS) process

These vehicles require a "Pink slip", the appropriate Transport for NSW documents, the club's "Application for conditional registration" form and photos of the vehicle to be taken to or by the registrar, with the vehicle, to be inspected and stamped before registration at a Transport for NSW office.

Check the Transport for NSW web site regarding driving an unregistered vehicle for registration purposes.

(Where seat belt anchorages, including child restraints are not provided by the manufacturer the fitment must be certified as per VSI6, refer to Service NSW web site.)

Please contact the club registrar to book a time for inspection of your vehicle.

Classic Vehicle Registration Process (CVRS) (Non standard vehicles)

If any modifications are made or non period accessories fitted to the vehicle, it may fall under the "Classic vehicle registration scheme". These vehicles require a "Blue slip" for initial registration and may need to be engineer certified. Refer to VSI 6 and VSI 9 on the Service NSW web page for up to date information regarding modifications.

NOTE: To take part in this scheme your documents must be completed by Australian Confederation of Motor Clubs (ACMC).

Each vehicle must be inspected by our club registrar (appointment reqd.)to ensure the member has met the required attendances and the vehicle complies with all legal and club requirements. Our club also requires a completed "Application for conditional registration form”.

Registration approval is then conducted as per this link, (ACMC web site) Classic Vehicle Registration Process – Australian Confederation of Motor Clubs (acmc.asn.au)

Owners of vehicles registered under conditional registration are responsible for obeying Transport for NSW regulations and conditions. The onus is on the driver to be aware of the law. Failure to comply will void registration and insurances on the vehicle and may incur heavy police fines.

Renewal of registration requires the applicant to meet the club's attendance requirements, a pink slip and the vehicle to be inspected by the club registrar as detailed above. Any changes to the vehicle (ie; Wheels etc.) may change which type of registration scheme applies.

For more information please refer to the links below, club constitution or contact the club registrar.

The club reserves the right to refuse authorisation of the registration, or renewal of the registration, of members who do not fulfil their obligations to the club as per the constitution. Members not fulfilling their obligations may appeal to the committee and will be required to show cause to the committee why their registration should be renewed.

This scheme allows conditionally registered vehicles to be driven for "General use" for 60 days each registration year.

Vehicles conditionally registered through this club must comply with log book scheme conditions. i.e. log book must be completed for general road use and servicing of vehicles (outside of club runs). Heavy police penalties apply for not completing your log book entries.

NOTE: The HVS applies to vehicles which are as close to original condition as possible with no alteration, period accessories may be acceptable.

NOTE: The CVRS applies to "non standard" vehicles
